Israel start-up nation team
 wears UYN cycling underwear

Success is built from the ground up. This is true in sports, but also in apparel. That’s why the Israel Start-Up Nation cycling team chose technical underwear by UYN – Unleash Your Nature looking forward to a successful season.

The Italian brand is the new partner of the Israeli cycling team, headed by four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome and with a roster full of champions such as Andre Greipel, Daniel Martin, Sep Vanmarcke, Michael Woods and Alex Dowsett. UYN will support the Israeli World Tour team both during the races, with its high-performance underwear, and in the important moments of recovery with its socks and new Merino wool shoes.

Launched in fall 2018, UYN has already become one of the leading brands in the sports’ world. UYN technical underwear is entirely made in Italy, manufactured in the production site of Asola (Mantua Province), and is developed in collaboration with the best athletes in the world. In alpine skiing, UYN – official supplier of nine national teams – during the last winter season has contributed to the victory of the men’s and women’s World Cup and has supported the winning of ten world gold medals.

Now, the technology and the know-how of the Italian brand reach the top of professional cycling together with the Israel Start-Up Nation team.

Baselayer plays a critical role in keeping the body efficient and at the correct temperature during sports performance. The UYN ENERGYON and UYN MOTYON underwear that the athletes of the Israeli team will wear is made with NATEX, an exclusive UYN bio-based fiber obtained from castor beans. Differently from traditional nylon, petroleum derived, Natex dries 50% faster and makes sportswear 25% lighter. This results in rapid sweat absorption and superior comfort.

To face high temperatures and intense race moments, UYN has developed the FLOWTUNNELS system, an advanced combination of micro-holes and three-dimensional channels that increases airflow between the skin and fabric and cools down the body temperature. Thanks to FLOWTUNNELS, greater movement results in greater cooling power.

Moreover, freedom of movement and the absence of constrictions are equally key features that allow cyclist to stay focused for long hours on performance without distractions. For this reason, UYN engineers have introduced the HYPERMOTION technology: the shoulder area is made of a single piece that eliminates the friction of the seams. The innovative design ensures better muscle support and guarantees a natural range of motion.

The best race performance starts outside the race. In the moments of relax and concentration before riding on the saddle or during the crucial recovery phase. UYN will also support Froome and his teammates in these decisive moments. UYN CYCLING LIGHT socks, with asymmetrical elastic structure and COOL AIR FLOW technology, promote blood circulation and keep the foot always ventilated.

The ultra-breathable UYN X-CROSS shoes give the comfort of a sock thanks to the elastic one-piece upper that wrap the foot with the extraordinary properties of Merino wool: soft, naturally thermo-regulating, anti-odor. The sole with sugar cane insert makes the shoe extremely light (about 200 grams) and responsive. Perfect to recover energy after the effort or to be prepared for the next challenge.

In the words of Kjell Carlström, Israel Start-Up Nation General Manager

«We are very excited to join forces with UYN. In professional sport, any edge you can get is important and we truly believe that this partnership will benefit the team greatly this year with UYN’s technologically advanced base layers, socks and footwear».

In the words of Marco Redini, Ceo of UYN – Unleash Your Nature

«After our success in winter sports, we are ready to play a leading role at the highest level of professional cycling too. The partnership with the Israel Start-Up Nation team is not a point of arrival for UYN, but rather an opportunity to develop the highest performing and technically advanced products thanks to the feedback from the best cyclists in the world».
