The Italian brand supports the Israeli team in the most important event of the season. Froome: “The quality and comfort of UYN’s products is outstanding”
On Saturday, June 26, the 108th edition of the Tour de France, one of the most important and popular sporting events in the world, will kick off from Brest (France). UYN® – Unleash Your Na-ture will be at the start alongside the Israel Start-Up Nation team, ready to support its eight rid-ers with technical underwear for race, socks and shoes for recovery.
THE EXPERIENCE OF FROOME, THE TALENT OF WOODS, THE POWER OF GREIPEL
21 stages, including six high mountain stages and two individual time trials, a total of 3,414 kilo-metres: the Grande Boucle is proving to be a tough and demanding race, where attention to eve-ry detail is crucial. The Israel Start-Up Nation team is aiming for the top positions in the general classification with leader Michael Woods, who can rely on the experience of Dan Martin (winner of stage 17 of the 2021 Giro D’Italia) and Chris Froome, the British champion winner of four Tour de France. The flat stages will be the hunting ground for the German sprinter André Greipel, the ac-tive rider with the most career victories – 158, including 11 at the Tour.
“It’s been great getting to use UYN’s products this year, the quality and comfort is outstanding but beyond that I appreciate their vision. Their focus on innovation into making more sustainable products and commitment to respecting the environment”, said Chris Froome.
UYN ENERGYON, THE UNDERWEAR MADE WITH NATEX BIO-FIBRE FOR HIGH TEMPERATURES
Traditionally, the climate conditions are one of the main “adversaries” for the riders to face during the three weeks of the race: the extreme heat, the high perspiration, the gusts of wind, the sud-den changes of temperature at high altitudes (the highest point of the Tour this year is the 2408 m high Port d’Envalira).
The Israel Start-Up Nation team will be equipped with UYN ENERGYON, the technical underwear made from plant-derived NATEX fibre. Unlike traditional petroleum-derived nylon, NATEX comes from castor beans, is 25% lighter and dries 50% faster.
The innovative FLOWTUNNELS technology, based on a combination of micro-holes and three-dimensional channels, generates a constant flow of air across the skin that keeps the body at the ideal temperature, even in the hottest stages. In the ENERGYON shirt, the shoulder area is engi-neered without seams: the exclusive HYPERMOTION cut provides greater postural support, maximum freedom of movement and superior comfort during long-distance riding.
UYN SHOES AND SOCKS TO SPEED UP RECOVERY
Recovery is decisive in a multi-stage competition. For the moments of rest, UYN provides the athletes of the Israel Start-Up Nation team with UYN CYCLING LIGHT functional socks featuring Target-Compression Bandage technology and UYN X-CROSS shoes with a pure Merino wool lin-ing. UYN shoes are the first shoes made from socks, with no laces and zero seams: ultra-breathable and flexible, they envelop the foot with the fine fibres of Merino wool, like a second skin, and promote recovery after intense effort.
