The Halfpipe, Slopestyle and Big Air teams have chosen the Italian brand’s technical apparel for their competitions. The new jackets, pants, softshells and mid-layers have been designed to enhance the athletes’ freedom of movement.
UYN – Unleash Your Nature is proud to announce an exciting new partnership in the winter sports: the Italian functional apparel brand is the new Official Outfitter of the Austrian Free Ski team. Athletes in the Halfpipe, Slopestyle and Big Air disciplines have chosen UYN jackets, pants, softshells and mid-layers for maximum performance in competition and training.
The debut with the new high-tech apparel took place last March during the prestigious World Championships in Aspen (Colorado, USA) where the Austrian team achieved an important top-10 in Slopestyle (with Lara Wolf) and Big Air (with Laura Wallner). At the Junior World Championships in Krasnoyarsk (Russia), Austria shone with two silver medals in Slopestyle and Big Air (with Daniel Bacher).
After the first brilliant results in the World Championships, UYN and the Austrian Free Ski team are ready for their first World Cup season together which will begin on 22nd October in Chur (CH) for the Big Air.
Designed for total freedom of movement
With its technical underwear, UYN has been partner of the Austrian Alpine Ski Team and eight other national teams (Italy, Germany, France, Norway, Slovenia, Russia, China and the Slovakian biathlon team) for three seasons. This time, the cooperation also extends to ski outerwear: jackets, softshells, mid-layers and pants have been developed together with the athletes to ensure perfect thermo-regulation during activity and maximum freedom of movement.
The UYN anorak, lightweight and highly breathable, features the special Ergomotion system: 3D knit fabric inserts are located in the shoulder area. They have a higher elasticity than traditional fabrics. In this way, the jacket adapts naturally to every movement. At the same time, the knit fabric is made waterproof and windproof thanks to the combination with the intelligent Membrain115 membrane (a unique, patented technology), which offers protection without altering the elastic properties.
The UYN softshell is characterized by the new Buffercone bodymapped technology, a three-dimensional fabric that retains body heat in strategic areas and promotes air circulation. Buffercone is used in the inner layer and is designed to keep the athlete’s body temperature constant and promote performance.
The UYN technical mid-layer and ski pants are also the result of a development process based on the athletes’ feedback. Fit and construction enable a wide range of motion which in freeskiing means breathtaking jumps and tricks.
